My record…preview, buy, listen, tell a friend…hell tell an enemy or two also!
This song features two very good longtime friends Count Bass D and DJ Pocket…Count did the beat both he P hit me w/ 16 for it (P is also one of the Exec. Producers of ‘Stand Up Music)
This song is just my way of expressing certain frustrations about our mindset as a people. So many of us have the ‘I, me, and mine’ attitude that we have gotten to the point where there is no sense of community (unity being the root word)… This attitude is reflected not only in the music that we make, but also on our outlook on what is important. We still fight over corners that aren’t ours to begin with… Still sell poison to our own people… Still kill each other over the most trivial of things.
Until we can truly look at our brother or sister as family and treat them as such we’ll always fall short of our immeasurable potential.
So that’s the mindset I had when writing the song…
So like most other male’s that are able to one of the first things I did when I got old enough was go with some friends to a ‘scrip club’ (c) Pacman Jones. After maybe 20 minutes I was like…’ok, what now?’ don’t get me wrong I enjoy the female anatomy as much as any heterosexual man should. But being the classic over-thinker that I am I began to wonder how these ladies doing these wild things got into this position (no pun intended)… I wondered what their background stories were…so that question is what inspired the song ‘BackSpin’ The story is entirely fiction, I didn’t know or interview anyone…the song just wrote itself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good solid music, July 15, 2011By V. Racanelli “racanelv” Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)This review is from: Stand Up Music (MP3 Download)This is what I like to call grown folks music. If you stop and listen to what’s being said you’ll be throughly impressed with this first outing. Many songs cover personal topics as well as the occasional jab at the Hip Hop community as it doesn’t stand for anything these days.
The production work is fine but this is an example of hip hop circa 1989, beats and breaks are minimal nothing too complex but the verbal gymnastics are top notch. Had he come out with this 20 years ago he would have been hailed as the next great MC but in today’s hip-hop environment my man Hot Sauce will have to settle for being called a hidden gem.
I’m very proud of how this joint came out…almost time to do it again @siksoh6 !
‘Trapped’ is one story about three different women I dealt with at different times in my life. All with the same outcome. It’s comical…now, but believe me it was no where near funny then. It’s interesting how many ladies inquired as to whether I had them in mind while writing this song…but the ones I actually did have in mind couldn’t care less (as usual) I can safely say it took years in some cases before I could actually sit down and write this one. Not only did it take quite a bit of introspection, but also some pride swallowing. Shouts to T****, S********, and A*****
